At a certain point in his experimentation Rino Valido looked beyond the simple pictorial touch and entered the world of the “readymade”. He had already experimented with this approach with his “woods”, inserting occasional fragments in specific works. The first sparks of interest
in this new idea emerged in 2001 for certain fabric remnants or for strips in relief that support the canvas. But here we are still in a purely colour-based environment, i.e. such presences totally replace and take the place of the brushstroke.
